Professional's Shop
Since arriving at Douglas Park in April 2009 I have set about trying to offer you the club members a range of products and a level of service befitting your club. I have made a commitment to stock products which I believe are amongst the best on the market and offer the user the best value for money and ultimate performance.
I have joined TGI, the largest golf buying group in Europe. This allows me to not only supply you products at competitive prices but also to source virtually any golf product you can imagine.
I am always looking to hear feedback from you the member on what you would like to see in the shop. Please do not be embarrassed to ask for anything you might not see in the shop - in most cases if I don't have it in stock already then I can source it quickly for you and at a competitive price. I hope that by now many of you will have experienced a high level of service in the shop, and that your retail experience has been enjoyable. Again I am always looking for feedback and suggestions as to how the level of service and services and products on offer can be improved. As part of my PGA membership I will be attending several CPD programmes with a view to continually improving the level of service I can offer to you the member. As many of you will be aware Alastair has now been accepted to the PGA training programme and once again I believe that this will improve the level of service which you will benefit from upon visiting the shop. One of the most important elements of my job is communication. I send out a monthly e-mail newsletter, keeping you abreast of any shop promotions, upcoming events and significant news. I am also in the process of getting my web site up and running where I hope to have regular coaching articles, product reviews and more. You can subscribe to my e-mail newsletter via the web site. Read it now on the News Blog www.robertmirvinegolf.co.uk As many of you have probably realised I am very passionate about my coaching. Like many young assistant pros I had aspirations of becoming a world renowned coach and working with some of the games elite players. I still have these goals but I must confess that my primary coaching aim has changed. Whilst I undoubtedly want to see my pupils improving, ultimately what I hope to achieve with a student is an increased enjoyment of the game as I believe that this is the first step towards a real improvement in performance. We tend to believe that we will be happy once we have achieved our goals - I often hear golfers say "I'd be happy if I could just...", finish that sentence how you will. I believe that the process of improving should be enjoyable, to the point where the process itself gives as much satisfaction as goal attainment. If you want to improve your game and gain more enjoyment from it, or give that gift to someone else then why not arrange for a lesson? Whatever your reason for visiting the shop, even if it is just for a chat I look forward to seeing you all very soon! |
