ROBBIE WINNER OF INAUGURAL JUNIOR ORDER OF MERIT

The 2018 season saw the introduction of a new Junior, season long, Order of Merit, with the intention of encouraging more junior participation in competitions. Through the generosity of member Craig Stirling Brown and his charity, The Stirling Brown Trust, a trophy was donated along with the prize of a year’s membership. After a fantastic season, in which he won 4 gents competitions, and cut his handicap from 15 to 7, I’m delighted to say that the inaugural winner is Robbie Trainer. The competition came down to the very last event, with just 8 points separating Robbie from 2nd placed David McColl. The top 5 are listed below. The trophy was formally presented to Robbie by Craig Stirling Brown on Saturday 17th November, with Captain George Roberts, Junior Convener Craig Turner and Robbie’s dad Gary in attendance. Lets hope for another successful 2019 season.
