Douglas Park Golf Club Gents Invitational 2014
8th July 2014Douglas Anderson Trophy Wednesday 23rd July
20th July 2014Dear Member,
DOUGLAS PARK PRO AM – 21 AUGUST 2014
Douglas Park Golf Club has always made an effort to raise funds for worthy causes. However even so, our Professional Robert Irvine was overawed by the level of support and generosity which he received from you all on his recent 72 hole challenge. To date he has raised over £2700 which is going to The Beatson. One of the things which he feels contributed to the success of this venture was the proximity of the charity and also the fact that so many people at the club have an affiliation there, either through work, as a patient or as a relative of a patient.
Robert was doing this off his own back due to a friend being treated there but due to the positive response, the Pro-Am Committee have decided that they want to support this cause too. To that end we have decided that this year’s Pro-Am will be run to benefit The Beatson. We are hopeful that the staging of this event will raise a substantial amount of money for what I am sure you will agree is a very worthwhile cause.
There are a variety of ways in which you can become involved:
We are happy to accept donations of prizes for the raffle – we hope this year’s event will give the opportunity to win some really incredible prizes.
We are always actively looking for sponsor’s teams as this event is a terrific way to network and potentially host some of your prominent business clients. The entry fee includes food and unlimited drinks throughout the day.
Members teams and Members and Guests teams are always popular and we need as many of these as possible to make the event a success. If you want to enter, we will make sure there is a place for you. This year we are opening up more afternoon tee times for Members as this was requested after last years event.
This event is a great chance to play with some of the best players on the Tartan Tour and have some of the best coaches in the Country have a look at your swing. All in all it’s a fantastic event and one which Douglas Park Golf Club is proud to host.
If you wish to enter a team or to donate a prize then please get in touch, either with Robert and his team in the Pro Shop or with the Pro-Am convenor Janet Dow.
Many thanks for taking the time to read this.
Kind regards,
Roddy Gillespie
Club Captain
