21st December 2015Merry Xmas
24th December 2015There has been a lot of effort and resource devoted to the upkeep/upgrade of the course and clubhouse and surrounds over the last twelve months or so. In the early weeks of the New Year that will continue as we strive to do our best with the resources available.
We are due to have a complete replacement fire alarm system installed in January. Engineers will be on site from Wednesday 6th January. This is a major piece of work that will take a few weeks but it is hoped that the work will be confined to relatively small areas of the building at a time and the plan is that no significant areas of the clubhouse will be out of bounds to members for terribly long, if at all. At the same time, the team will also be completing some work required to bring the cctv system up to scratch.
In addition, a decision has been taken to replace some items of furniture in the lounge area as well as upgrade/refurbish/repair other pieces of furniture. It follows that the furniture that is being refurbished will have to be taken off site for the necessary work to be done. This will be done in small manageable quantities so that the clubhouse will not appear barren when furniture is taken away. There will be more than enough tables and chairs left for members to enjoy when using the lounge.
Accordingly, there may be tradesman or two around the club over the first few weeks of January 2016. That is likely to be a quieter month for the clubhouse and the clubhouse staff. Lisa and her team had a fairly hectic December hosting several functions and preparing and serving more Christmas dinners than you could imagine. At the last count something of the order of 900 meals were served. Quite an effort indeed, and one that generates a fair bit if income for the Club. Well done Lisa and the squad. Your holiday is coming closer.
