A very successful Lady Captain’s Day.
The sun shone all day and Douglas Park was a sea of pink, from the bunting to the flamingos to the fantastic baking, with pink touches, at the gazebo. The theme of the day was “In the Pink”and everyone involved – the players, professional Robert, Course manager Drew, all joined in the spirit of the day and wore pink!
The playing format was a Tri Am and 81 ladies took part in the 18 hole competition which had a “pink ball” event included in it (the nerves displayed whenever it was a player’s turn to play this ball). One team lost it at the first and quite a few managed to keep it to the 18th but lost it there!! 6 ladies played in the 9 hole Tri Am and 3 ladies took part in the Senior putting competition.
Well done to everyone who took part and congratulations to the different winners. Click here to view the list of prizewinners.
The day finished with prizegiving, a superb buffet and entertainment from three students of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. The ladies of DP certainly know how to enjoy themselves.
Thank you to all who took part and to the committee and Ann Fisher for their help with the day.
Mary McLean, Lady Captain.
