5th June 2017Ladies’ Day – Saturday 10 June 2017
7th June 2017Douglas Park Ladies participated in a happy and relaxed but competitive Lady Captain’s Day on Friday 2nd June in surprisingly good weather. The theme this year was the Douglas Park Experience Irish Style! 86 Ladies competed in an 18 Hole Stableford Jig (with a shamrock ball competition running at the same time – this ball had a life of its own and caused much amusement and some grief!), and a 9 Hole Stableford Jig. Two Junior girls competed for the Primrose Cup, and 4 ladies in the Senior Ladies putting competition, so a busy day! The ladies took the green theme to heart and also to head as the photos below will attest! Everyone stopped at the Gazebo for drinks and sweet and savoury goodies. The Ladies Committee excelled themselves with their delicious and inventive shamrock shapes and colour which were much appreciated by all.
The day finished with the evening prize giving and a superb buffet with an Irish theme. We were all very pleased to welcome some of our new members to their first Ladies’ social evening.
Many congratulations to all the prize winners. Click here to view the list of prizewinners.
My thanks to all who took part and made it such an enjoyable and fun day, to the ladies’ Committee for all their help, and of course to Lisa and Drew and their staff. I am so fortunate to have such fantastic support from you all.
