Stag Dinner 2015
6th December 2015Protected: Annual Accounts 2014/2015
21st December 2015In spite of the biblical rainfall which Storm Desmond Deposited on a Disrupted Douglas Park (nice alliteration, Ed.) we still have many works underway and planned around the course.
Firstly, there have been many leaves to blow and collect (see photos) as well as having to recover our wooden bridges from their new locations.
Plans are being made to create new step areas onto the 12th tee and 13th upper tee. You will see these taking shape over the next few weeks. In the meantime, please continue to adhere to instructions to follow the guide ropes & temporary walk ways as they appear. This is for the protection of the ground and to prevent slipping.
Clearance of the now old and misshapen conifers will be undertaken in front of the clubhouse and this area will be replaced by a turf finish until further discussion on new landscaping.
The car park was flooded over the last weekend but has been cleared today by the removal of the leaves which were blocking the drains. Similar works are being undertaken on the course and you will see many water run-offs working well during this period of exceptional rainfall.
For your information, while the lower section of the course is out of commission, we have a challenging 9 hole course made up of 1/3/12/13/14/15/16/17/18 which takes under 90 minutes to play, onto full greens so, when we have a bright day, get yourself along for a breath of fresh air, excellent views, a golfing challenge and a quick bite and refreshment in the clubhouse.
