LADIES COMMITTEE COUTING TO LARGS KELBURN, THURSDAY 11 AUGUST 2016

24 intrepid ladies set off from Douglas Park on Thursday Morning, in suspect conditions, to LargsKelburn for the annual Committee outing, organised by Lady Vice-Captain Christina.  Undaunted by the conditions, which deteriorated during the day, Teams Europe and USA competed for the Douglas Park version of the Solheim Cup.  The Ladies had gone to considerable trouble to dress appropriately in team colours and made a colourful sight in the club house before donning all the waterproof clothing they could lay their hands on to go out on the course.  Despite the weather the course was in great condition and the Largs Catering Team looked after our party wonderfully well. A great evening was had by all –  Douglas Park Ladies know how to enjoy themselves! Result: a win to USA 4^1/2 to Europe 1 ^½, over 12 holes. The individual prize was won by Gina Rennie and Ann Fisher, Team USA, with Carol Fell and Christina Graham, Team Europe, runners-up. Many congratulations to USA and all the prize winners winners.
