“The Douglas Park Past Captains playing in the semi-final of the Andra Kirkaldy Trophy continued the excellent record of  DP teams in 2016 by defeating Windyhill GC  over their own course.

The two Johns , Messrs Telfer & Morse gave the team an incredible start by defeating two very good opponents by the amazing margin 7 up. According to their opponents John Telfer was round a long and wet course in 73 shots.Not bad for an 11 handicap player!

Douglas Samson & Charles Strong kept the momentum going with a sound 2 up win and were followed in by Hugh MacIntyre & Ian Letford who recorded a hard fought 1 up victory.

David Wightman & Jack Macintyre found themselves up against two higher handicap players who excelled in the conditions as a result David & Jack lost 4 down.

The overall net result was a win 6 up.

The final of this competition will take place on Sunday the 18th September which clashes with our Finals Day at DP which might involve Past Captains and will involve our Club Captain.

Whatever happens on the 18th September the Past Captains’ team has performed admirably during the 2016 campaign and I would like to thanks all who played for their support over the past

4 months.
