And Now for Something Completely Different
26th June 2017Championship Finals Day
29th June 2017“The Donald Cameron team played their third , and last , home match V Sandyhills and came away with a satisfying win by the margin 5.5 to 2.5
Ally Thomson gave the team the perfect start with a convincing 6 & 5 win.
Clark Nelson was involved in a very competitive match and was one up with two to play.Unfortunately his opponent birdied both the 16th & 18th to hand Clark a one hole defeat.
Craig Young was also in a very close match but with being one up at the 18th Craig played an exquisite 50 yard pitch & run to one foot from the 18th pin to secure an important win.
Chris McManus has not enjoyed the best of seasons and was unlucky to lose one down.
Angus Watson looked to be in a winning position until his opponent birdied the 17th to level the match.Angus had an opportunity to win on the final green but missed his 10 foot put and had to settle for a halved match.
Stephen Wightman kept up his excellent form winning comfortably 4 & 3.
Dave McClement , the senior member of the team , showed his usual match play brilliance also winning 4 & 3.
Michael Giovannetti was in imperious form crushing his opponent 6 & 4.
This win places the team fourth in the league with one match , away to Windyhills , still to play.
