” The annual Gents V Ladies team match was played in reasonable weather conditions and resulted in a very closely fought match.

In the first match Alastair Thomson and Andy Abercrombie were up against a strong combination of Fiona Rattray and Sandra Goldie.In a high quality match producing some excellent golf

honours were even after the 18 holes and a halved match was the result.

Clark Nelson & David Wightman played against Claire MacKelvie & Lindsay  McLean.in the second match.The highlights for the Gents were Clark driving the second and eleventh greens – prodigious ball striking! Those winning holes gave the Gents pairing the edge and they ran out winners 2 & 1.

In the third game Chris McManus and Dave McClement , recovering from their excesses during the previous day’s Member/Guest function,had another closely fought match eventually winning by the margin 2 & 1 against the Lady team members Gillian Hendry and Lynda Smith.

In the fourth match Peter Grant & Jim Fergusson were fortunate to escape with a halved match against Hilary Mac Naughton & Barbara Aitchison – Jim having to hole a 12 foot birdie put on the final green to secure their half point.

The overall result was a win for the Gents team 3 to 1.

In the courtesy match Capt Alistair Forrest and V/C George Roberts were comfortable winners over Lady Capt Christina Graham & Lady V/C Anne Reid.

All who played in this match thoroughly enjoyed their experience and look forward to the 2018 event.
