3rd April 2018Wee Wonders Coming Back to Douglas Park
4th April 2018R&A 9 hole Championship (Grand Final Carnoustie, July 14th 2018)
This new initiative by Scottish Golf gives Douglas Park members the opportunity to compete in a 9-hole Stableford pairs competition. Pairs can be female, male, mixed or junior, although only one under-18 per team is allowed.
The competition will be played on Bank Holiday Monday, May 7th, over holes 1,2 and 12-18 so that all competitors finish at the clubhouse. Handicap adjustments for the 9-hole course will be made on the day. The team score is calculated from the combined stableford points of both players.
The winning Douglas Park pair will qualify for the National final in June, with the opportunity to progress to the Grand Final at Carnoustie to be held on 14th July 2018.
For anyone NOT wishing to take part in the 9-hole competition, 18 hole play will be available but to ease the flow of play this will consist of playing the designated 9-hole course twice.
This is a unique opportunity for friends and relations to compete together for the chance of progressing to a prestigious Grand Final at the historic Carnoustie Links in the week before the Open Championship is played there.
Entries for the club competition can be made now via the BRS booking system in advance of the day itself – Monday 7th May 2018.
