“The annual Ladies V Gents match was played on Sunday 19th August and resulted in an exciting and competitive match-up.

Sandra Goldie & Fiona Rattray were first up for the Ladies and took on a formidable combination of Clark Nelson & Jim Fergusson.

The two teams threw loads of birdies at each other with the Ladies prevailing by the margin 2 & 1.

Carol Fell & Helen Faulds were the second team playing and were opposed by Angus Watson & Hugh MacIntyre.

Angus recorded 8 birdies in the holes played resulting in a comfortable win for the Gents.

Maggie Rutherford & Lindsay McLean were opposed by Adam McLeod & James Ewart.The Gents combination were back in a net 28 but this was not good enough to prevent a win for the Ladies on the final green 1 up.Maggie’s highlight was a net 1 at the 17th!

The overall result of the match now rested on the final pairings of Norma Cook & Paula Galloway versus Ross Cameron & Dave McClement.This match went all the way to the 18th green where the Ladies won the hole to secure a halved match and an historic win for the Ladies 2.5 to 1.5.

In the courtesy match the Ladies again prevailed with a 2 up win for Captain Anne Reid and V/C Denise Macnaughton over the Club Captain George Roberts and V/C Alan Dunipace.

This was a great match played in a sporting and good humored spirit .
