Ladies Day 2021 Results
25th June 2021Ladies Open Tri-Am
29th June 2021The Donald Cameron League team played their penultimate team match on Wednesday evening against a strong Hayston team. Our current Club Champion , Michael Giovannetti, provided the perfect start with a convincing 4 & 3 win followed by Mark Hughes who also won 4 & 3.
Angus Watson was unable to play due to an injury to his arm. His replacement, Alastair Thomson fought back from losing 3 holes around the turn but lost on the final green. Andy Abercrombie produced a welcome 2 & 1 win followed by Steven Wightman who won 2 up. Matthew Anderson produced the all-important win 3 & 2 to secure an overall victory by 5 matches to 3. Ross Cameron and Adam MacLeod both lost their ties.
This win has secured the team’s promotion to Division one and has set up an exciting end to the season with an “away” match to Milngavie on the 14th July. A win at Milngavie would result in the team topping the league and winning the Campsie Trophy for the second time in two years.
The team also won the Donald Cameron Foursomes in 2019 , when it was last played and hope to retain the trophy when the competition starts on the 6th July at the Glasgow GC with a difficult tie against Cawder GC. Our Club will be represented by Angus Watson & Michael Giovannetti and Steven Wightman & Mark Hughes. Good luck on the 6th July.
