Congratulations to past Captain Ian Letford who won the Douglas Park Trophy at the Seniors Open on Tuesday 4^th July.  Rain started at 4am and continued unceasingly until 1pm resulting in a number of late withdrawals and a reduced field of 72 players.  Surface rain appeared on some greens about 10am but thanks to the efforts of Drew and his staff the course remained eminently playable throughout.  Many of our visitors commented on the excellent condition of the course.  Scores were unusually high and Ian’s excellent nett 68 achieved in the first group of the day was never challenged.  The Quaich for the best scratch score was also retained in the club by past club champion, Danny Ward with a gross score of 80.
