A great battle between all the players took place on a sunny day at Douglas Park Golf Club. The junior boys led the way with a battle that eventual winner Finlay Watson was always in front with Ross Mcmillan nearly pegging him back before Finlay closed out the match 4&3.Next along was the senior ladies and through a close first ten holes,Beverly Mitchell began to build a lead that Aileen MacIntyre could not quite catch,Beverly winning 4&2.The gents seniors was a nervy affair considering the experience of both gents,Callum Cooper eventually winning 4&3 over John Telfer. The match that appeared to catch most of the spectators eye was the battle between new young hope and current junior player Fiona Rattray and Douglas Park Hall of famer Helen Faulds. This was nip and tuck all the way,Fiona giving a great account of herself until Helens experience came through ,winning 2&1.Lastly the gents championship was played with top level shot making,a close affair over the first 18 holes ,until Andrew Mcnamara began to dominate the back nine of the 36 holes eventually winning 3&2 over Franco Giovannetti. So congratulations to all players and the champions.Below in file are some pictures of the day.photos
