Jj Mccarry Convincing Victory at Home to Hayston
15th May 2016Ladies’ Invitation Greensomes – Friday 20 May 2016
22nd May 2016“The Donald Cameron team played their second tie of the 2016 season away to Dullatur on Wednesday evening.
On a wet and murky night our top two team members Alastair Thomson and Craig Young both lost to two excellent Dullatur players.
Chris McManus also looked like losing when two down with two to play. However Chris fought back to win the final two holes to register a half point which result proved to be very significant as the match progressed.
Andrew Abercrombie , playing the course for the first time , sank a 20 foot put on the last green to win his match one up.
Angus Watson proved to be too powerful for his opponent and won his match comfortably 3 & 2.
Matthew Anderson , our form player , continued his excellent season winning 4 & 3
Ross Cameron fought hard but lost on the final green 1 down.
This left the overall result on a knife-edge with Peter Grant , also new to this course , playing in near darkness, Peter managed to two putt from 30 feet on the last green to win one up which result left the team score at 4.5 to 3.5 in favour of Douglas Park.
Next Wednesday , the 25th May , the team meet their biggest challenge when Glasgow Killermont come to Douglas Park. We have a very strong team to meet this challenge and the team would welcome members who would wish to come out to support the team. A win would ensure promotion to the first division. and would go a long way towards winning the Division 2 title.
