25th May 2016Donald Cameron Vs Milngavie
3rd June 2016The big match-up between the two stongest teams in the league took place on Wednesday evening when Glasgow Killermont visited Douglas Park.
Glasgow fielded three plus handicap players and their highest handicap player played off 2.
Alistair Thomson and Chris McManus both lost as did Angus Carrick giving Glasgow an early lead. However the strength in depth which the Douglas Park team now carries showed itself when Andrew Abercrombie won 1 up followed by our in-form Matthew Anderson who won 3 & 2 (pictured below at the 11th tee)
Angus Watson was labouring in the first nine being 2 down but birdied 4 holes on the back nine to register a 3 & 2 win.
Michael Giovannetti was a comfortable winner 5 & 4.
The last match on the course involved two previous Cawder members with Craig Young up against plus handicap Neil MacRae,This match went down the wire to the 18th where Craig closed Neil out with a par 4 to win 1 up.
Craig’s win resulted in an overall victory by 5 to 3 in favour of Douglas Park and ensured our team remain top of Division 2.
