4th June 2016“For the fourth match in the 2016 campaign the Donald Cameron travelled to Milngavie on a glorious Thursday evening.
Alistair Thomson led out the team and secured a great win over a formidable opponent in Alan Foggo by the margin 3 & 2.
Matthew Anderson continued his on form season with a 2 & 1 victory followed by Chris McManus who won 3 & 2.
Andrew Abercrombie had to play at his best before winning 1 up – his third such score line in the 4 matches played.
Angus Watson was one up playing the last hole but lost that hole to end up all square.
Adam McLeod , celebrating his 22nd birthday , also managed a halved match.
Michael Giovannetti demolished his opponent winning 7 & 6.
This left Craig Young playing Alan Pirie in a very closely contested match.Craig nearly holed his tee shot at the 195 yard 16th with his 2 putting him one up.
At the last hole his opponent holed out for a birdie 3 and Craig was unable to follow him in with the result a halved match.
Thus no Douglas Park player lost his match with the overall result a 6.5 to 1.5 win.
This result ensures promotion to the 1st division and puts the team in an excellent position to win the 2nd division league title and the Campsie Trophy which comes with it.
The team are next away to Bearsden on the 22nd June with the final match on the 29th June at home to Hayston.
