The Captains v Vice Captains annual match was played on Sunday 4th September with 10 couples taking part. Greensomes matchplay was the format and this worked really well with every match being closely contested. The overall result reflected the competitive but friendly play – Captain’s team 3pts against Vice Captain’s 2pts and everyone, whether they were a winner or loser, enjoyed the day.

This Trophy competition took place on Sunday 28th August. In the last of this year’s mixed competitions 16 couples played in warm and humid weather and great course conditions. The Ladies v Gents match at Douglas Park Golf Club was held on the Sunday 21st August. Early rain, disappeared mid-afternoon to leave us playing in pleasant, breezy conditions. Result, Ladies 2, Gents 3.

A very successful Douglas Park Ladies Open Greensomes was run this year by Helen Robertson, Anne Fergusson and Sally Macfarlane. A cheque for£650 was presented to Elizabeth McCready of Riding for Disabled by Ladies Captain Mary McLean.
