The annual Ladies V Gents match was played on Sunday 18th August and resulted in an historic victory for the Ladies.

Joan Gemmell & Anne Fergusson led out the Ladies’ team and recorded a 1 hole win over the Gents’ club champion Andrew McNamara and Matthew Anderson.

Carol Fell & Evy McGregor kept the momentum going with a 4&3 win over the big hitting Angus Carrick & Alastair Thomson.

David Carrick & Stephen Wightman steadied the ship for the Gents’ team with a win over Maggie Rutherford & Gill Hendry.

The teams were then tied at 2 matches each when Dave McClement & Morris Brodie registered a win over the young partership of Fiona Rattray & Alex Mennie.

The match result then rested on the final tie in which the “Slane sisters” Lady Captain Norma Gray & Lindsay McLean took on Club Captain David Sharpe and Team Manager Hugh MacIntyre. A closely fought match was finally ended when Norma holed a 20ft putt on the 17th for a magic 2 and victory 2&1

 At the after match dinner David Sharpe was fullsome in his congratulations to the Ladies’ team and thanked all who participated in the match.
